  2. Why do it? • Time pressures on Trust staff so they can’t attend training • Access to training for staff on remote sites • Refresher / bitesize training for people who don’t need full training • Not enough library staff to cover training

  3. Which software? Do you want to be able to: • Add start and end titles • Add captions • Zoom in on image • Add sound • Show a video of the trainer as they talk • Have choice of how to publish the training

  4. Software options • BlueBerry Flashback • Camtasia / CamStudio • Screenr • Browser add-ons • Apps • Prezi • PowerPoint

  6. Apps • For iPad – Educreations; Knowmia Teach; ScreenChomp; ShowMe • For Android – Screencast video recorder; • For both – Explain everything; Animoby

  7. Planning a session • Know exactly what you are covering • Learning objective • Content • Length • Practice mouse moves and typing • If adding sound • Write a script • Record live or over edited screencast?
