  1. MICHAEL CRICHTON Michael Crichton was born in Chicago, in 1942. He went the Harvard Medical School. After graduating, Crichton embarked on a career as a writer and filmmaker. Called "the father of the techno-thriller," his novels include The Andromeda Strain, The Great Train Robbery, Congo, Jurassic Park, Rising Sun, and the sequel to Jurassic Park, The Lost World. He has also written four books of nonfiction, including Five Patients, Jasper Johns, and his autobiography, Travels. His novels have been translated into at least twenty languages. Many have been made into films, including the phenominally successful Jurassic Park. Crichton has directed six films, among them Westworld, Coma, and The Great Train Robbery. Always interested in computers, he once ran a software company, FilmTrack, and madecomputer game, Amazon.

VOCABULARY • RUMO(U)R(n): information that is passed from one person to another and may not be true • SPECY(n): a group of animals or plants of the same kind • LIZARD(n): a small with thick skin and a long animal tail that lives in hot countries. • EXIST(v): to happen or to be real or alive • EXTINCT(adj): a type of animal or plant that is extinct no longer exists. • TRAILER(n): a container on wheels that can be pulled behind a vehicle, used for carrying things. • NEST(n):a place that a bird makes to lay its eggs in. • STUFF: a substance or material of any sort. • EXPEDITION: a long and carefully organized journey. • CELL: the smallest part of a living thing. • MUD: soft wet earth.

  4. summary CHAPTER 1: • There was a rumour of dead animal. • Levine wanted to make an expedition to Costa Rica. • He wanted Malcolm to help him about his expedition. • A company called Ingen found a way to make dinosaurs from cells taken from dinosaur bones. • Levine ordered special equipment from a company called Thorne Field Systems. CHAPTER 2: • Dodgson was working for Biosyn. • Kelly and Arby had a special job,working for Dr. Levine. • They went to Thorne’s factory. • They saw interesting equipments for expedition in there. • Levine was in danger and he wanted help from them. • They couldn’t get the message,they couldn’t know where he was.

CHAPTER 3: • Thorne,Arby and Kelly went to Levine’s home. • They spoke with Malcolm about Site B. • Ed’s listening equipment was working fine and he heard their conversation.He caught some information. • They got the place where Levine was .They was able to start expedition. • They needed to get all the stuff into the containers. CHAPTER 4: • From the helicopter,Thorne could see five islands. • They separated two groups and began to the trip. • Near the Challenger, there was a group of six lizards. • An old wooden sign pointed one way to River and the other way to Site B. • They reached to the Site B and began to look for Levine.

  6. CHAPTER 5: • Malcolm,Eddie and Thorne were looking for Levine in the forest. • Arby and Kelly stayed in Challenger. Arby was trying to switch on TV Systems. • Arby warned them about a dinosaur was coming to closest to them. • They spoke by radio system. • Thorne was trying to start the motorcycle. Suddenly Levine fell out of tree,he looked up and smiled to Thorne. • They reached back to the trailers. CHAPTER 6: • Sarah Harding was coming Isla Sorna by boat.She met with Dodgson and Baselton in that boat.Baselton.pushed her into water. • They also has a cage which protect them from dangerous dinosaurs. • Malcolm said “we need to know where the nest is.” • Sarah was still alive. She succeeded to survive. Then she joined the group.

CHAPTER 7: • Dodgson and Baselton was trying the ways to find a nest, but they were in danger. • They wanted to steal some dinosaur eggs from a nest. • The baby dinosaurbit Baselton’s leg and held on tightly. • Eddie took a baby dinosaur back to the trailers, because it was injured. • The Challenger fell into the valley and hanged over the valley. CHAPTER 8: • Dodgson and Baselton didn’t escape and dinosaurs beat them and ate them. • Others felt lucky to still survive. • They were lucky to return back to their home.

  8. MY COMMENT IN MY OPINION, THIS BOOK IS VERY SUITABLE TO READ. I CAN OFFER THIS BOOK TO YOU.I DIDN'T GET BORED WHEN I READ THIS BOOK.IT ALSO HAS MOVIE, IT SHOWS THAT IT IS WELL-KNOWN STORY.
