  1. El escudo fue presentado por el Licenciado: RAMIRO ESQUIVIA BELTRÁN y seleccionado en medio de varias propuestas por votación. El escudo está constituido por dos secciones básicas. PARTE SUPERIOR: Está representada por el sol que proyecta unos rayos de color amarillo encendido que expresa la luz natural proyectada al trabajo y saber del hombre. PARTE INFERIOR: Presenta un libro abierto mostrando los frutos y elementos que se producen en la región, significando el potencial productivo del hombre. Por último están las palabras TRABAJO-CIENCIA. Las cuales se interpretan como la energía que imprime el hombre a la institución proyectada a diferentes comunidades.
