Lucjan Siemieński. H e was b orn in the Galician town of Kamienna Góra on 13 August 1807. H e attended the Richelieu College in Odessa. D uring the November Uprising in January 1831 he joined a Lithuanian- Ruthenian infantry legion. He was imprisoned in Żytomierz and later in Kiev.

  2. He was born in the Galician town of KamiennaGóra on 13 August 1807

  3. He attended the Richelieu College in Odessa

  4. During the November Uprising in January 1831 he joined a Lithuanian-Ruthenian infantry legion. He was imprisoned in Żytomierz and later in Kiev

  7. In 1834 he became a member of a Carbonari union "The People’s Friends"

  8. He joined a group founded by AndrzejTowiański called The Circle of God’s Cause (like Adam Mickiewicz)

  9. In the last months of 1848 he settled in Kraków, working for the daily "Czas" ("Time")

  10. Siemieński was a professor of the history of Polish literature at the Jagiellonian University

  11. The writer died in Kraków on 27 November 1877. He isburriedin Skałka in Kraków
