  5. Parade Ceremony • 7:10am Assemble at your class location • 7:20am Parade begins • 7:45am Parade ends

  7. Celebrate with our Neighbours with a Flag! • 7:45am Move out to HDB blocks • 8:55am Return Back to School • 9:00am Gather at the School Hall

Why are we going out of school • Westwood Secondary would like to spread our National Day Spirit with our neighbours. • Distribution of flags to our neighbours. • Each student will be given a hand held flag. • Each class will be allocated a block to distribute. • Teachers will be accompanying students.

  9. Movement out • All Lower Sec students are gather at the quandrangle after the parade has ended. • Sec 1A-1C + 2A-2D to move to quadrangle (normal assembly row) • Sec 1D-1H move to quadrangle using stairs in front of staffroom. • Sec 2E-2I move to quadrangle using central staircase.

Movement out • Sec 3A-3E move out via Staircase 2 to the ground floor to the canteen and school gate • Sec 3F-3H move out via Science Block Physics Lab staircase to carpark and school gate • Sec 4D-4H + 5A-5B to move out via Art Room Block stairs to back gate • Sec 4A-4C move to back gate after Sec 2 move

  21. What you can do • Behave like a Westwoodian. • Give out flags to passerby, residents, children around the block you are allocated. Each of you gets ONE. • You can distribute it floor to floor, door to door. • If nobody is at home, you may stick the flag flying on their gate.

  22. What you can say • Greet them with a SMILE. • “Good morning Sir/Mdm. I am from Westwood Secondary School.” • Explain why you are here. • “Our school is celebrating our National Day today.” • Tell them what you want to do • “We would like to give this flag to you as a token of our school’s celebration.Thank You. Have a nice day Sir/Mdm. • ORSimply say HAPPY NATIONAL DAY with a SMILE. (SINCERITY IS THE KEY!)

  23. What NOT to do • The flag is symbol of Singapore. • Do not dump or throw it on the floor or dustbin. • It is a OFFENCE to disrespect the national flag. • Do NOT play along the corridors or the door bells/ doors. • Listening to MP3 Players and mobile phones. • Run off from your class to join other class. • Remember you are a WESTWOODIAN.

  24. Concert Celebrations • 9:00am Gather at the school Hall • 9.00-9.10 am FT mark attendance • 9.10-10.30 am National Day Concert • 10:30am End of Concert and Dismissal

  25. Reminder • Bring Reading Materials • House T-shirts (No Class T-shirts) • Attendance is COMPULSORY (SCHOOL DAY) • BE PROUD and CELEBRATE • Celebration on 8 Aug 2011, Monday (7.10 am) • Actual Day on 9 Aug 2011, Tuesday • School Holiday on 10 Aug 2011, Wednesday
