  1. Future Internet-Based Interactive Applications of Medical Imaging • B. M. Aowlad Hossain • Student ID- 2008315253 October 26, 2008 DEPARTMENT OF BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING KYUNG HEE UNIVERSITY, KOREA

  2. Internet-Based Interactive Applications of Medical Imaging • Advances in medical image acquisition technologies provides high-resolution 3D volumetric data. • Demands Internet-based interactive applications to share or transfer medical image data. • Computerized visualization, analysis and diagnosis. • Telepresence of a surgeon during operation.

  3. Problem Statement • Ranging: several hundred megabytes-several ten gigabytes. • Not only 3D but also other senses like temperature, pressure etc • Internet-based interactive applications are limited to low/medium-resolution data for its limited bandwidth: insufficient for reliable use in diagnosis. • Increasing clients in client–server model leads to a longer response time for all users. • Specifically: Large storage and longer response time
