    5. Organisation was structured based around area’s of complete custodial responsibility and its culture was based on this. Data quality & metadata is variable across the fundamental datasets. Where DLI must guarantee info on behalf of WA, quality is extremely good (eg tenure). In contrast, areas such as topographic, data are underfunded and are not of a quality to underpin a state SDI. Many of DLI datasets are highly volatile and some metadata statements are generally at a high level due to this.
