Task 3.1: Survey to assess, to peer-review and to certificate each GSD - data - wrapper - formal membership of the CoL programme - GSD metadata M.11 March 2010 WP3 Progress report (1) • Task 3.1: Survey to assess, to peer-review and to certificate each GSD • Questionnaire prepared and sent to all GSD on November 18th (link with PESI) • Several reminders by DO & TB, last on the January 5th • Still missing some of them, but survey done by DO. WP3 Progress report (2) Task 3.2: Evaluate and report with GSD and nomenclators custodians, editorial services staff (WP5) for: - changes to the data standards for existing fields (if any) - changes to the Sp2000 Best Practices document (if any) - possible extensions to the bio-data fields (requests from the Services team) - possible internal services (name-alerts, user comment service, cross-checking with regional hubs, other lists, unassigned name batches) M.11 March 2010 • Task 3.2: Evaluate and report on standards, best practices, new fields, … • Report tomorrow following questionnaire results: • Needs of improving definitions of fields (accepted and provisional names, LTS) • Agreement to add mandatory or optional new fields • (distribution, taxon LSD use, fossils, known habitats, subgenus rank, associated organisms, reference to nomenclators via LSID // hybrids, conservation status, size) • Analysis of implication of integration of services (to be done) • Deliverables: Best practices, Standard dataset, Survey report and subsequent pilot projects documents in March 4D4Life 2nd General Meeting, 15-18 february 2010, Faro, Portugal
