  9. Characteristics of all cultures 1. Culture has many dimensions: Political, Legal, Religion, Medicine, Food, etc

  10. 2. Culture has many styles: Ruling, the ruled, Regional, Sub-cultures, etc

  11. 3. Culture has many shapes: Ancient, Medieval, Modern, etc

  12. 4. Culture has many evolving features: Some more coherent and some not

  13. Cultures are always changing • Changes in behaviors and customs • Changes in basic patterns and values

  14. Beginning to do culture • seeing your culture the way others who are not a part of it see it • looking at your culture in comparison with other cultures

  15. The goal is to learn to approach your own culture more analytically and to encourage us to be cautious when interpreting another culture.
