Plan for our future • Those who do not discern how actions affect the future are called fools – Ecclesiastes 7:4-6 • Our wisdom alone greatly limits us – Ecclesiastes 8:6,7 • Ingersoll (Atheist): “Life is a narrow vale between the cold and barren peaks of two eternities. We strive in vain to look beyond the height. We cry aloud, and the only answer is the echo of our wailing cry. From the voiceless lips of the unreplying dead there comes no word.” • Luke 12:6,7

Our god hold the future in his hand • The creator of the Universe has infinite wisdom – Isaiah 46:9-12 • Without God’s help we have no reason to expect a good future – Deuteronomy 32:28,29 • Why is this so difficult? - John 3:19 • We serve a God who wants to be very involved with our future – Jeremiah 29:10-14 • He cares for us – 1 Peter 5:7

How A living faith provides for our future • God wants us to trust Him with our future – Psalm 27:13,14, 9, 34 • God has revealed some things of which we can be certain concerning the future – 2 Samuel 7:19-21 • Of what has God assured us concerning specific events? John 11:25,26 • Romans 8:24,25,18 • The application of God’s word in wisdom & discernment will determine the future – Matthew 6:33,34; Proverbs 23:15-18; 24:19,20; 37:23-25; 31:25-27

  5. Who will I marry? • We are right to be thoughtful about this important decision • Abraham and Isaac – Genesis 24:2-4 • Build your faith in God first & then make decisions about dating • One may choose not to date or marry – 1 Corinthians 7:32,33

  6. Who will I marry? • We must determine to marry a faithful Christian • Is this person eligible to marry? Matthew 19:9 • Is this person a Christian? 1 Corinthians 9:5; 1 Peter 3:7 • Does this person have proper ambition? Ephesians 4:28 • Is this person dependable? Ephesians 4:25; 1Corinthians 13:4-6

  7. What will happen to my children? • Need to think about this as soon as we are expecting a child – Judges 13:8 • Every Christian wants their children to go to heaven – Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:4 • Our faith must be real & we must never stop teaching – Deuteronomy 6:6-9 • The greatest gift we can give our children is a great marriage between two faithful Christians – Luke 1:6; 1 Peter 3:7
