  3. Round Table Meeting in Brussels – 7- 8 March 2016 "Bioenergy and biomass from forestry“ European Forestry House 27 representatives of UEF forest partners and Forest organizations. Piotr Borkowski, EUSTAFOR welcomed the participants and opened the meeting, Michael Diemer, UEF President, introduced the keynote speakers: - Ms. Maria Gafo-Gomez-Zamalloa (DG AGRI) - "Bioenergy in the framework of the EU Forest Strategy and its Forest MAP". - Mr. Jeremy Wall (DG GrOW) - "Role of biomass from forestry in the future EU energy policyand consequences for wood based industries". A large exchange of ideas and perspectives between the participants allowed a rich dialogue, stressing the necessity of an European policy on this important issue, using an holistic point of view.  3 • GCM, Nødebo (Denmark) 23.   4. II. UEF projects Windmill excursion The first Windmill Excursions (Sept. 2015) was skipped. 2. The second excursion “Wind Energy on Forest Sites” in Germany 4 and 5 April 2016 In cooperation with the State Forest Organization of Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany); 4 participants - 2 from Switzerland and 2 from Germany. - • Participants were welcomed by the UEF President and the State Secretary in charge of forests in the Ministry in Mainz; • They got information on • wind power in the forest in general; • the experiences for a compatible implementation of such projects; • financial and contractual aspects of wind turbine projects. 4 GCM, Nødebo (Denmark) 23.   5. II. UEF projects – Workshop on Forest Pedagogy 19-23 October 2015 at Yundola, Bulgaria. Organized in collaboration between UEF, UBF, the Bulgarian EFA and the Bulgarian MAF. 28 Participants – 24 Bulgarians and 4 French students Basic knowledge and skills for organizing and leading forest educational activities for kids.The participants were also able to put into practice their knowledge. The training was led by the UEF secretary Thomas Baschny and Wolfgang Schweighofer – leading experts on Forest pedagogy in the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management. The second workshop on FP is planned for 17-19 October 2016. 5 GCM, Nødebo (Denmark) 23. Sept 2016

  6. III. UEF Foresters Workcamp excursion week 09 – 17 July 2016 Kastellaun Germany (Rheinland-Pfalz). FS "LandesforstenRheinland-Pfalz", in cooperation with UEF and SDW (Protection society for German forests). This year as one week excursion. 12 participants (9 nations Belgium,  Netherlands, Greece, Spain, Ireland, China (Canada), South Africa, Ruanda, South Korea. Main themes Forests and general forestry of Rheinland-Pfalz and Germany. 6 • GCM, Nødebo (Denmark) 23. Sept 2016

  7. IV. Foresters exchange visits I – Poland - A Swedish forest trip to Poland - September 2015 Swedish foresters visited Poland to discover the Polish forest management. The trip was organized by SitLiD and led by UEF Vice-president Tomasz Markiewicz. The participants were accommodated in Wielkopolska National Park. - the structure of Polish forestry the main objectives of State Forests; - the wood market in Poland; • the seed and seedling production in Poland - bare root nursery and container nursery. Visited one of the most valuable natural oak stands in Poland in Krotoszyn FD GCM, Nødebo (Denmark) 23. Sept 2016 7

Foresters exchange visits II - Bulgaria A French forest students trip – Oct. 2015 - More than 30 participants from ISETA, French forest school in Annecy; Hungarian Foresters – Oct. 2015 – 45 foresters; Polish foresters - May 2016 - 25foresters: Discovered the Bulgarian forests and forest management in various forest types; • erosion control activities; • history and traditions in afforestation works, etc. GCM, Nødebo (Denmark) 23.
