RU Tier-1 overview • Tier-1 in NRC “KI” will: • support 3VOs: ALICE, ATLAS and LHCb; • run both WLCG general services and VO-specific services*. • We define 4 milestones*: • Dec 2012— prototype with 10% of resources, LHCOPN — 2 Gbit/sec; • Jul 2013 —test LHC OPN (2 Gbit/sec), WLCG and VO-specific services, resource upgrade, LHCOPN — 10 Gbit/sec; • Nov 2013 —test LHC OPN (2 Gbit/sec), resource upgrade to the 10% of the world summaryTier-1 capacity for 2012; • Dec 2014 — LHC OPN, WLCG and VO-specific services are test to comply with A&R requirements; resource upgrade. • * Details are outlined in the execution plan

  6. Connectivity of RU Tier-1 to academic networks • MSK-IX/G-NAP: KI – 10 Gbit/sec, JINR – 20 Gbit/sec • GEANT: 10 Gbit/sec via e-Arena (Russian PoP) • Russian Tier-2: connectivity via G-NAP, RadioMSU, RUNnet

  7. Connectivity of RU Tier-1 to CERN • CERN/OPN connectivity in 2012:GEANT-IP, 2 Gbit/sec. • Channel goes through the secondary link via Danmark, no backup

  8. Connectivity for RU Tier-1 at milestone 2 • 10 Gbit ring: KI → AMS → BUD → JINR → KI • Goes to CERN via BUD → GVA DWDM line • Supplements existing GEANT link

  9. Growth of Tier-1 resources in NRC KI • Disk resources include tape buffer pools • Resources of 2014 are calculated as 30% increase fromfigures of 2013

Tests to be done at milestone 2, NRC KI • OPN integration tests • OPN functional tests at 2 Gbit/sec • SAM/Nagios tests for supported VOs • ATLAS functional tests • ALICE functional tests • Raw data transfer with ATLAS and ALICE to the tape system (2 Gbit/sec OPN link) • Test of publishing accounting data toAPEL
