  3. What is the Function of the Muscular System? The muscular (muscle) system is in control of how your body moves in every way shape and form. Your muscles are attached to the skeletal (Skeleton) system. When you pick up an object your muscles are all working together along with the skeletal system to lift that object.

  4. What are the Major Organs That Make up the Muscular System? The major organs that make up the muscular system are : Skeletal Muscles, Cardiac Muscles and smooth muscles. Skeletal Muscles: Skeletal muscles surround the bone they are the muscles that help us move in any direction.

  5. What are the Major Organs That Make up the Muscular System? Cardiac Muscles: The Cardiac muscles surrounds the heart and helps pump the blood through the whole entire body. Smooth Muscles: Smooth muscles don’t connect the muscles to bones but smooth muscles help control other organs in our body.

  6. How do these Organs Work Together? Skeletal, Cardiac, Smooth muscles work together. Through Voluntary and Involuntary movement. Voluntary muscles are the muscles you can control example Skeletal muscles which are connected to the bones through the tendons that you control if they contract or not.

  7. How do These Organs Work Together? Involuntary muscles are the muscles that you can’t control example Cardiac and Smooth muscles. Smooth Muscles are in your intestines and stomach. Cardiac Muscles around your heart are controlled by the peripheral nerve system (PNS) so you can’t control them.

  8. How is your Organ System connected to two Other Body Systems? 1) The muscular system is connected to the skeletal system. Tendons connect the muscles to bones. Tendons connect the skeletal muscle to the Skeletal System. Because the skeletal muscle Surrounds the bones the tendons are connection between the skeletal muscle and the Skeletal System (Bones).

  9. How is your Organ System connected to two Other Body Systems? 2) The muscular system is connected to the circulatory system. The cardiac muscles which makes up some of the heart pumps the blood through arteries and blood vessels so there for the muscular system is connected to the circulatory system.

  10. Levels of organizations in humans The heart has an outer layering made of muscular (Cardiac muscle) tissue and the tissue is made of different groups of muscle (muscular) cells . Different groups of cells make up different groups of tissue and different groups of tissue eventually make up organs and different groups of organs make up an organ system and finally different groups of organ systems create an organism. The heart is not the only organ with muscle cells.

  12. Two Common Diseases With the Muscular system Muscular dystrophy: it is a disease that many people may have in there life, the disease may inflicts: weakness, loss of mobility and loss of coordination. This disease cannot be cured. Many doctors believe that the genes have something to do with the causes of muscular dystrophy for example: Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Becker muscular dystrophy are caused by a mutation in a gene called dystrophin. Different types of therapy are used to treat this problem like the mobility aids which helps keep muscles and tendons flexible.

  13. Two Common Diseases With the Muscular system Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS): it is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that effects both muscle cells and nerve cells, it can cause loss of voluntary muscle movement and ultimately cause paralysis and death. Also cannot be cured. Researchers say that ALS causes moter neurons to get destroyed which causes major damage to the nerve cells and muscle cells. However they don’t know why or how but they have a couple ideas for example: environmental metal exposures can cause this to happen. Special tests are taken to diagnose this issue like taking the EMG test to determine whether the muscle cells are getting effected or the nerve cells.

  14. How can a Health System be Maintained? You can maintain a healthy Muscular system by working out and using your muscles in physical activities and eating healthy food. Working out your muscles causes them to contract and extend this improves your muscle strength and ability. It begins with eating healthy food because the food is your energy if you don’t eat well you can’t perform at your best.

  15. 2 professions that work with the muscular system • Neurologists- A neurologist is trained to diagnose nervous system disorders including diseases of the: brain, muscle, spinal cords and nerves. a place to find a job for a neurologist would be a local hospital.

  16. 2 professions that work with the muscular system • Rheumatologists- A rheumatologist is trained to diagnose and manage patients that have arthritis and other rheumatic health problems. These health problems may cause various effects on the joints, muscles, bones and sometimes internal organs. Rheumatologists work at university clinics.

  17. Five Fun Facts 1)The Strongest muscle in the body is the Tongue. 2)The adult human body has 600 muscles. 3)When you shiver your muscles contract. Your muscles release enough heat to keep you warm. 4)You have over 30 facial muscles which create your facial expressions. 5) Eye muscles are the most used muscles in the body.
