  1. Monday 9/17/2012 Tall Figure Andrea Giacometti 1949 Surrealism At first glance this image may look distorted due to it being stretched to fit the computer screen. However, this is the natural state of the sculpture. Why do you think the artist chose to elongate the figure as he did? What purpose or reason do you think was behind this choice? What feeling or sense of mood due you get from this figure and would that change if it weren’t so stretched out?
