  3. Get the Ball Rolling • Plan, organize and recruit support for the program before offering it in your school • Collaborate with administrators, feeder schools, counselors

  4. Choose the Ed. Professions Teachers Carefully • They are the heart of the program and • should be organized and energetic • must be certified to teach the class • be willing to recruit enthusiastically • maintain high standards for themselves and their students • realize they are a role model for students

  5. Lay the Groundwork for Field Experience • Decide how and where students will fulfill the school-to-work component • Solicit help from day care centers, preschools, elementary and middle schools in your area

  6. Prepare the Ed.Professions Students for the School-to-Work Experience • Use the state-approved curriculum as a basis • Create many opportunities for them to gain confidence and practice good teaching strategies • Include self evaluation and reflection to refine their skills • Provide a variety of activities and resources

  7. Watch Students as They Observe! Learn! Teach! Grow!
