  7. Transition Week Fall, 2006 Participation rate in Spring, 06: Day • 6 of 8 ESL level 3-6 classes • All ABE/GED classes • 2-3 Developmental ESL classes • One bus-load from New Holly Night (at All College Night) • All 6 ESL Level 3-6 classes • One bus-load from New Holly

  9. Transition Week Fall, 2006 In Spring, 06 one student said, “Attending these workshops really helped me understand better and it gave me and orientation to what I need to do to reach my goal. It answered all my questions. I am glad the school do stuff like these to help students succeed.”

  10. Transition Week Fall, 2006 We need to continue to work to help our students overcome the ‘glass ceiling’ formed by their first generation and LEP status.

  11. Transition Week Fall, 2006 What activities lead up to Transition Week? • Students set goals • They learn about the college programs. • They choose programs to investigate. • They go outside the classroom to visit college facilities.
