  2. Scottish Survey of Literacy & Numeracy (SSLN) THANK YOU!

  3. SSLN Tasks • Pupil sample – matched names for six pupils per primary and 13 per secondary and sent to schools. • Teacher sample – matched names for ten teachers per secondary and sent to schools. • Handling Queries - Responded to many school queries.

  4. SSLN next time… • Annual task - but schools should become more familiar with procedure. • Feedback - Any suggestions for making it easier next time?

  5. Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) • Participation - 110 secondaries across Scotland • Task - Generate list of pupils for selected schools, upload to website • Timing - January 2012 (plus stragglers in February)

  6. PISA Task (Part 1) • Create dataset of all pupils in S3, S4 and S5, plus any pupils born in 1995 who may be in other year groups. • Dataset contains first and last name, gender, date of birth, and year group • Ideally an Excel file, but the Portal will also accept the following formats: CSV, DAT, XLS, DOC, XML, RTF or PDF.
