  3. The Common App • If you have been published: List being a “published Waksman Scholar” in your honors section • If you were nominated to attend the summer institute, you may list that as an honor as well

  5. The Common App • Waksman is a unique high school experience. Many found it was the best activity to elaborate on.

  6. The Common App • Many use this opportunity to upload a resume—which can include details of your experience in Waksman • You may also use this to submit your publication and/or the most recent poster file

  7. Interviews • Have (printed out) NCBI publication, poster, lab notebook • Focus on: lab experience, collaboration, commitment, leadership roles (if applicable), relevance to future • Understand Waksman program • Don’t use “DSAP” as description of sequence analysis

  8. Other Suggestions • Take AP Biology • Consider a recommendation letter from Ms. Sanelli • If seeking a lab position during the summer and/or in college, include research experience in CV/resume
