What is Huelva famous for? • Huelva was the originating place for the discovery of the America • Many of the first Europeans in America where from Huelva and its surrounding villages. • It has one of the oldest football clubs in Europe • The pilmigrimage to the Virgin of El Rocio’s Chapel is one of the most important in Europe

  4. Huelva and the Discovery of America • Cristobal Colon arranged his trip to unknown land in La Rabida, a monastery very close to the city.

  5. Huelva and the Discovery of America • Many of the members of Colon’s crew were from Palos de la Frontera and Moguer, nearby towns.
