  4. The SOER 2010 Synthesis provides a summary assessment augmented by additional integrated and cross-thematic analyses. Chapter 1: Assessing the state of the environment (5000 w) Chapter 2 to 5: Reviewing progress improving the SOE (4x5000 w) - focus: summarise state of the environment - entry point: 6th EAP priorities & regional angles - highlight inter-connectedness Chapter 7: Environmental challenges in a global context (5000 w) Chapter 8: Future environmental priorities (5000 w) SOER 2010 Synthesis Environment& Health Nature &Biodiversity Use of natural capital Resource use & Wastes Climate Change

  5. Assessments of global mega-trends Review of consultant output, Advisory group Paper for discussion at Magt. Board in June Background report and fact sheets in July Integration analysis Draft integration analysis, discussions with advisory group in May Analysis over summer 2010 to lead to background report in September 2010 Implication analysis Will be developed in an interactive fashion with EEA stakeholders and experts Completion over winter 2010/11 Approach and steps for Part A Assessment of global megatrends Social megatrends Technological megatrends Economic megatrends Environmental megatrends Political megatrends

  6. Assessments of key (13) environmental themes that integrate economic and social driving forces.   7. Based on feedback, final drafts of 12 thematic assessments were prepared -> consultation from 10 April to 17 May. In total, ~1000 comments have been received in April / May:- 17 countries commented on at least one thematic assessment;- feedback from DG ENV, DG ENER, DG MOVE, DG REGIO, DG AGRI;- Scientific Committee sent comments on all but 4 assessments; - most comments on Soil, Land, Climate and Water assessments. Many comments received during the consultation process: Understanding climate change: 37 in total Adapting to climate change: 127 in total Countries that submitted comments include the following (non-exhaustive): Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Switzerland Comments from EEA Scientific Committee Comments from European Commission (e.g. DGs ENV, CLIMA, REGIO, JRC) Comments have been addressed one by one and changes documented. This information will be made available to enhance transparency of the process. Climate change impacts and adaptation issues
