  1. HS Announcements: Monday, Oct. 8th High School Attention Juniors & Seniors. The following institutions and military branches will have representatives here to meet with you either in the media center or in Lab 70 during homeroom time: 10/8 – Hesston 10/15 – Navy 10/16 – Heidelberg 10/17 – OSU ATI 10/22 – Taylor 10/23 – Air Force 10/24 – Ohio Northern 10/25 – Ohio State School of Cosmetology and the Salon Schools Group Please stop by guidance to sign up or if you have any questions. 2. If you are planning to attend the UU College Fair or UU Business Expo next week, field trip forms are due by 8:00 this Wednesday. 3. Attention seniors: Are you interested in earning a full tuition scholarship to study accounting, business management, computer technology, medical technology, or office technology? If you answered yes, then you should consider UNOH and attend their open house on Friday, Oct. 26 from 9:00-3:00 pm to learn how you can earn this full tuition scholarship. See Guidance for more information. 4. Attention juniors and seniors: Are you considering Youngstown State University? If so, they are having two CRASH DAY/OPEN HOUSES on Saturday, October 20 and Friday, November 16. These are days for students and parents to meet faculty members and current students, explore different academic colleges and majors, and finally-tour the campus, residence halls and dining facilities. Please stop in HS Guidance for more info. 5. All juniors that are interested in applying for Prom Chair can pick up an application from Mr. Lamb. Applications are due back to him by October 16th. If you have any questions, see Mr. Lamb. 6. There will be an FCCLA meeting this Friday at 7:00am. Come for breakfast which will be prepared by Mrs. Conrad and helpers. 7. FCCLA is sponsoring “Take Your Roll to Class Day” tomorrow. Stop by the FCS room Tuesday morning and purchase a cinnamon roll for just $1 and take it to first period.

  2. Athletics • The Varsity Football Team defeated Greeneview by a score of 41-6 on Friday night. • The JV Football Team defeated Greeneview by a score of 24-0 on Saturday. Austin Secor ran for two scores and a two point conversion and Trent Thomas returned an interception for a touchdown while adding two two-point conversions. The Tigers are now 6-1 and play Mechanicsburg at home next Saturday. • The 7th Grade Volleyball Team defeated Graham on Saturday. Jonni Parker had 17 points, 11 aces and 6 kills. Tory Cordell had 12 points, 6 aces and 5 kills. Aubrie Stillings and Abby Dillion each had 5 points. The Tigers improve to 13-1 on the season and will host Triad today. • The 8th Grade Volleyball Team lost to Graham. Leading the Tigers was Kiana Reames with 8 points, 2 aces and 1 kill, Kelby Strapp had 4 points and 1 kill and Mikalia McIntosh had 8 kills and 2 blocks. The Lady Tigers are now 5-9 and play Triad at home today. • The Varsity Girls Soccer Team defeated Southeastern 6-0 on Saturday. Goals for WLS were Ashleigh Gieseke-3, Melany Ward-2, and Maddie Gantz-1. Assists were by Maddison Oelker-2, Lindsay Hostetler, Ashleigh Gieseke, Addy Hartsel, Morgan Freyhof. April Kelley and Lauren Godwin each had 1 save in goal. Team is now 7-3-3 and 7-2-1 in the OHC. • The Varsity Boys Soccer Team defeated Southeastern 11-1 on Saturday. Grant Burden and John Lowe each had 3 goals, Will Hagstrom and Byler Williamson each had 2 goals, and Sylas Smittle scored a goal. WLS is now 5-7-2 and 4-3-1 in the OHC. • The JV Volleyball Team lost to both Jackson Center and Urbana on Saturday. The Varsity Volleyball Team also lost both contests. Against Jackson Center, Courtney Milliron had 13 digs and Jamie Peterson and Rachel Loffing each had 5 kills. Against Urbana, Kylee Hormann had 12 kills and Autumn Klinger had 20 assists. The varsity team is now 10-10. • The MS Boys Cross Country Team placed 6th out of 16 teams at the Anna Invitational on Saturday. Justin Jordan finished in first out of 154 runners. • The MS Girls Cross Country Team placed 2nd out of 10 teams. Reghan Bieleski finished in 6th place. Jenna Magnuson was 9th, Katie Hartsel 18th, Ashley Black 23rd, Sarah Godwin 27th and Laine Godwin 28th. Great job ladies. Combined the Boys and Girls received the runner-up combined trophy.
