  2. Facing Off Rule 4 Section 3 (page 28) When- Start of game, before each period, after goals. Exceptions: 1 - Man-down or flag-down at the end of periods (with possession) 2 - Foul committed before or during face-off 3- Face-off infraction

Facing Off Rule 4 Section 3 (page 28) • Proper Set-Up and Execution of Face Off 1- Ball down at center 2- Players wait for "down" call, and go down together 3- Stick heads match up, centered on the ball, and perpendicular 4- Sticks up to and parallel to the line, but not touching it 5- Both hands on stick and resting on the ground, fingers wrapped around shaft. No fingers extended.

Facing Off Rule 4 Section 3 (page 28) 6- Hands cannot touch plastic head or strings 7- All body parts must be to the left of the stick head 8- Officials - take a second to make sure of proper player positioning.(Can re-position players if necessary at this time, but don't do more than once or twice at beginning of game.) 9- Once "Set" call is given, players cannot move until whistle 10- Signal “possession” when achieved

Advancing the Ball Beyond Center LineRule 4 Section 13 (Page 39) • Once possession is gained in the defensive half of the field, the team will have 20 seconds to cross the center line. • The new trail official starts the 20 second timer. • Once started, the 20 second count will continue until: • The opposing team gains possession • A clearing team player in possession of the ball steps on or over the mid-field line • A loose ball breaks the plane of the midfield • At mid-field, single side official indicates ball has crossed mid line by beginning a visual 10 second count (if ball is possessed).

Advancing the Ball into Goal AreaRule 4 Section 14 (Page 39) • The attacking team (with possession) has 10 seconds to advance ball into the Goal Area; • Once they cross the center line with possession • After initially gaining possession in the offensive end • After regaining possession in the offensive end (Following defensive possession) • Official starts visual 10 second count (Most of the time it will be single side but it could be the lead or trail) • The requirement is met when the ball or a player in possession of the ball touches the line or is inside the goal area.

StallingRule 6 Section 10 (Page 68) • It is the responsibility of the team in possession to attack the goal • When they are not making an attempt to attack the goal they may be warned to “Get it in/Keep it in” • If they are outside the Goal Area (Box) they are warned to “Get it In” and the closest official will start a visual 10 second count. • If they are inside the Goal Area (Box) they will be warned to “Keep it in” • The defensive team must attempt to play the ball within the Goal area in order for a Stalling Warning to be issued.

  12. StallingRule 6 Section 10 (Page 68) • A Stall Warning will stay in effect until; • A Goal is Scored • The defensive team gains possession • The period ends resulting in a faceoff.

  13. StallingRule 6 Section 10 (Page 68) • During the last 2 minutes of regulation play Stalling rules are in effect for the team that is ahead. • When the score is tied neither team is forced to “Keep it in”
