Freshman Admission Requirements • We are NOT IMPACTED • FTF must meet minimum requirements: • Be a HS graduate, Complete GED or California High School Proficiency Exam • Qualifiable Eligibility Index • Meet “a-g” Requirement • Local Service Area: • Contra Costa & Alameda Counties • Admission Area: • All of California • Students must meet all published requirements and document deadlines www.csueastbay.edu

Fall 2012 Application Filing Period • Priority: October 1- November 30 • Will accept application through April 1 on a space available basis • FTF applicants will only be accepted for Fall quarter • Apply online at csumentor.edu • Student must meet minimum admission eligibility requirements by time of graduation www.csueastbay.edu

Student Communications After application is processed students will receive the following communications: • Application Confirmation Letter • Activate personal identification number, called a “NetID,” available at www.csueastbay.edu/netid • Misplaced your NetID? Contact (510) 885-2784 • Set up a CSU East Bay horizon email account to receive pertinent information • If a student is missing required items: • Incomplete letter • CSU Mentor notification/check MyCSUEB • Admitted Student Packet • Next steps for enrollment • Log on to myCSUEB to view “to do” list www.csueastbay.edu

Must Know for Counselors • Partial Documents Due: March 1 • Official HS transcript with 7th semester grades along with college transcripts (if requested) • Residency documents (if applicable) • SAT and ACT Official test scores up to December test dates • Final Documents Due July 15 • Official HS transcripts with all coursework completed • Official college transcripts with all coursework completed (if applicable) • SAT, ACT and/or AP test scores • Intent to Register • May 1st priority deadline • No Deposit Needed • Orientation Required for First Time Freshmen • Dates available in August and September www.csueastbay.edu

  7. Must Know for Counselors (cont.) Early Start Program (ESP) • Early Start Program (ESP): In June 2010, Executive Order (EO) 1048 established the Early Start Program (ESP). This program is for CSU admitted freshmen who have not demonstrated college ready proficiency in Mathematics and/or English. As of summer 2012, incoming freshmen who have not demonstrated proficiency in English and/or Mathematics will be required to begin remediation prior to the term for which they have been admitted, e.g., summer prior to fall • Students may complete ESP at CSUEB, other CSUs, or CCCs. • ELM/EPT must be taken as early as possible, but no later than May. • CSUEB will communicate with students of their expected ESP participation, requirements and remediation options available, including the new Smart Page process. www.csueastbay.edu

Next Steps • Submit Housing Application • 1296 beds • Accepts applications year round • Contracts are sent to students who submitted an application by June • Submit completed contract and initial housing payment of $800 by July 1 for guaranteed housing • Housing Themes: • First Year Experience (FTF) • Co-Ed/ Gender Neutral apartments • Register for Orientation • Orientation is mandatory • Is the key to a successful transition www.csueastbay.edu

Rescinding Admission & Appeals • Rescinding Admission • Based on final transcript, student no longer meets the minimum requirements • If there are changes to an application, students can email: admissions@csueastbay.edu • To Appeal • Rescinded students will be offered an opportunity to appeal with instructions via email/letter www.csueastbay.edu

  10. Cost of Attendance Estimated Cost of Attendance Based on 2010-2011 Fees* • Estimate is for a California Resident. Tuition is based on 12 units. Students are not required to live on campus. Meal plan costs vary depending on plan chosen. Personal expenses vary from student to student • Just over 50% of our students receive Financial Aid; almost $90 million awarded annually • Once FAFSA is received students can apply for CSUEB scholarships *Subject to change, fees should be regarded as estimates. www.csueastbay.edu
