Project Proposal

Project Proposal. Monte Carlo Simulation of Photon Migration. Monte Carlo Method. Step 1: Create a parametric model , y =  f (x 1 , x 2 , ..., x q ). Step 2: Generate a set of random inputs , x i 1 , x i 2 , ..., x iq . Step 3: Evaluate the model  and store the results as y i .

  1. Project Proposal Monte Carlo Simulation of Photon Migration

  2. Monte Carlo Method • Step 1:Create a parametric model, y = f(x1, x2, ..., xq). • Step 2:Generate a set of random inputs, xi1, xi2, ..., xiq. • Step 3:Evaluate the model and store the results as yi. • Step 4:Repeat steps 2 and 3 for i = 1 to n. • Step 5:Analyze the resultsusing histograms, summary statistics, confidence intervals, etc.

  3. Implementation of photon transport • Step 1: Launching a photon packet • Step 2: Step size selection and photon packet movement • Step 3: Absorption and scattering • Step 4: Photon termination
