  1. During Reading Activities Historical Fiction

  2. Get Wordy • Go back through the pages that you read and find 5 words that were new to you. • Write those 5 words down in your notebook and write the sentence and page number where those were found. • Find the definitions of those words. • Then you will write how that word works in the sentence. Example: chafes “Every second chafes.” page 7 Chafes- to make something fore by rubbing it, or to rub abrasively against another object. I think this is saying that time must be going by very slow.

  3. Picture It • Think about what happened in the part of the book that you read today. • Draw a picture to go with this part. Remember to use your best effort. • Under your drawing, you must include 4 sentences about what you drew from your book.

  4. Stuck in the Middle Remember to write at least 3 sentences for each section of the paper. When you are done, please glue this into your notebook.

  5. APPealing Book If your book took place today, what would be some apps that your characters would need. You can make up your own apps or use ones that already exist. Number your apps. On the next page you will explain what each app is and how your characters would use it.

  6. ChrctrTxtng If your characters had cell phones, what would they text back and forth to each other? Pick 2 of the main characters and write a text conversation. You can use some of the text slang that people use today.

  7. Plot Map Every story has a beginning, middle, and end. Show these parts by making a story map. This will look like a mountain. You may not have this finished because you could still have some reading to do in your book. Just do the events that you have so far. This will be the start of your rough draft.
