What is the bushmeat trade? • Bushmeat is the term used for the meat of wild animals that come from the forest. • It can be any type of terrestrial wild animal, from snails to elephants. • While some amphibious or semiaquatic freshwater animals, such as frogs, turtles and crocodiles, are also regarded as bushmeat, fish are not.

  3. An Example Cruel acts of needless slaughter like this happen every day in regions such as the Brazilian Amazon, the Congo Basin, and South East Asia.

  4. What animals are killed? 5. Our Solution • Create jobs and a society for the poachers to have alternate sources of income. • Raise awareness of the issue to make the products of the poaching undesirable and therefore, eliminate the “demand” portion of the “supply and demand”.
