As a competent organization the chamber is being active for already fourty years. The OOZ Maribor is runed by its members that are elected on the elections. Organs of the chamber are: Assembly, managing committee, supervisory committee, president.

CORE TASKS Representing the members’ interests before the local government Representing interests of its members before local and regional authoritiesand cooperating with the Chamber of craft Slovenia at representing interestsof members before governmental authorities. 2. Performing services to members and would-be entrepreneursConsulting to the members (incorporating a company – the VEM one-stop-shop, taxes, labour and welfare law, company and civil law, wages and salaries, accounting and bookkeeping, technical regulations and standards, favourable sources of finance, entering foreign markets, environmental protection, health and safety at work and e-business). 6. 4. Exercising powers conferred by public lawManaging the procedure of issuing, changing or terminating the validity of craftlicences. Issuing decisions on entry of craft-like activities in the Craft Register. Managing the Craft Register as a regional database. Issuing EU certificates by which companies and independent entrepreneurs prove that they meet the conditions for performing a craft or craft-like activity in Slovenia. Providing regular annual training for drivers of roadvehicles. Performing training and exams for servicing personnel for cooling and air-conditioningequipment and heat pumps.Managing the teaching sites register – a database of certified plants for trainingsecondary school students – and the training agreements register.

7. Members and organization The Regional Chamber of Craft and Small Business Maribor has 2.870 members and four employees: general secretary,secretaries of several sections and other experts. Numeric show of the craft in Maribor: On the 01.07.2012 there were enlisted in the craft registry: 2.870 craft works from which 2.307 independent entrepreneurs and 519 economic companies. Among the craft activities on the first place can be found the building industry,followed by traffic, metal industry, electrical industry, catering industry, hairstyling and cosmetics, etc.

8. Professional sections The key role in the Regional Chamber of Craft ans Small Business Maribor is played by professional sections because they represent the foundation for linking craftsmen. The Chamber uses its efforts in Slovenia and Europe to improve the conditions for doing business in craft, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. Craftsmen and their chamber have become an equal partner in the dialogue with the local government and trade unions. At regional chamber of craft Maribor acts 18 professional sections, which areengaged with professional questions of several activities.
