The National Football League
Football is a type of visual poetry. If you scored extra points in your fantasy league mock draft for your poetry prowess, how would you describe your favorite players in poem form. Experiment with different rhyme schemes and poem styles as you do this.
How do you determine who is the best?
Is it touchdowns, wins, or Super Bowls?
If you were the team’s new quarterback,
What would be your dreams and goals?
He is the reigning Super Bowl champion,
A great leadership performance to win it all.
After this year’s eight and o start,
What do you see for him in your crystal ball?
He has the most Super Bowl victories,
Records and dazzling throws galore.
He has been close a number of times,
Is this the year he gets number four?
He fascinates you with his runs and throws,
Our city loves a winner as everyone knows.
The Cowboys and The Giants are our foes,
Let’s see how this year’s Super Bowl quest goes.
A neck injury is ending an awesome career,
His list of records is without equal.
We wish for a safe and speedy recovery,
And hope to marvel at his sequel.
A strangely quiet quarterback,
But like his brother he has a ring.
How do we measure his success,
Is an often perplexing thing.
He brought Super Bowl glory
To a town destroyed in a disaster.
Surpassed now by the Packers and more,
Teams who seem to be bigger and faster.
He has all the tools to be a champ,
A great understanding and great arm.
Now if only his offensive lineman,
Could keep him from mayhem and harm.
He is the new guy,
They always go to the poorest team.
How long do you estimate,
Before he reaches that illusive dream???
Would Flacco be Poe’s favorite Raven?
I guess, if he were a football fan.?
He won’t break our Telltale Heart,
Following his present touchdown plan.
Detroit is the Motor City,
With QB Stafford sleeker than a Ford.
When he gets some needed support,
How many touchdowns will he have scored?
