Terms • Parliamentary Procedure- Set of rules that keeps order • Item of Business-Matter to be discussed or acted by an organization • Assembly-Group of people gathered • Debate-Discussion a certain issue with others • Minutes-Written record of a meeting • Committee-People delegated to work on different discussions.

Terms Cont. • Ad Hoc- committee formed to discuss one topic • Standing-Serves for a one year period to activities in the fall • Unfinished Business-Discuss old business • Majority Vote-More than half votes win • 2/3 Vote-2/3 people agree • Second-Somebody is considering a motion • Pending Motion-Immediate motion before the assembly

  4. Terms Cont. • Meeting-Gathering of officials to transact business • Minority-Less than half • Majority-More than half • Quorum- Certain number of people needed to be present to legally transact business.
