IT =cost center Perception: Top category for how IT is viewed is “as an expense.” 2012 ILTA Tech Survey: Management’s view of IT What we do: Follow the mandate to cut cost and drive efficiency through process improvements. 38% “As an expense” What we want to do: Send the message: “IT adds value!” (14%)

  6. IT Change = risk Perception: Change is Hard. Change is Risky. 2012 ILTA Tech Survey: Three biggest annoyances What we do: Create change control processes and work hard to manage user expectations. What we want to do: Send the message: “IT changes are safe, and good for the firm.”

  7. Process = solution Perception: We need cost efficiency. We need risk mitigation. What we do: Build processes to optimize resources, bring predictable outcomes.
