  1. Pink-E-Pie’s Play Palace, Inc. April 2014 • What’s Happening? • Picture day is on April 10th. Please have your child here by 9:00 so that we are able to take their picture. The sign-up sheet will be located by the computer. You can bring your child’s outfit in so they do not get dirty before the pictures or you may bring them already photo ready! • We will have our center Easter egg hunt on April 17th. More details to come, including a sign-up sheet for surprises to put in the Easter eggs. • Now that spring is here, we will be continuing the renovations on the play yard outside, weather permitting. We can’t wait to have it all finished and looking super awesome!! • Week of April 6th-11this Week of the Young Child, where will recognize our teachers for all their hard work in teaching your little ones. We encourage families to do something special for your child's teacher, whether it be making a card, bringing a flower, or just giving them a hug. We will also have a sign-up sheet located by the sign-in computer for parents to treat our teachers with breakfast on Thursday the 10th. Infant News Ms. Melissa For the month of April, the infants will be learning about Easter and Spring. We have a lot of fun stuff planned, such as making Easter egg marshmallow treats, experimenting with mixing different colored pudding and going on nature walks in the Bye-Bye Buggy to look at the blooming trees and flowers. We will also continue to work on self help skills. So, in closing, I hope everyone has a happy Easter and wonderful spring! We will provide cupcakes for the center and your child will go home with a fake tattoo and balloon animal. If you wish to bring something on that Friday, you are more than welcome! • We are still offering the computer parenting classes. We want to remind you that the first family to complete the first 5 chapters will get a $50 Visa gift card! We have a few families that has already started.

  2. Toddler News • Ms. Leanna & Ms. Desirae • Happy Spring!!! We are so excited that the snow is on its way out and flowers are on their way in! This month in our Adventures in Learning curriculum, we will begin learning about feeling and emotions, really encouraging the toddlers to point out how they are feeling when they are feeling it. We will also be learning about spring and the rain, flowers, and fun that comes with it. We will have another family activity that will be sent home this month and we are still asking parents to bring in family photos for our family wall for the toddlers to look at when away from you guys all day. We can’t wait to spring into action!! • What to do on Rainy Days • Have an indoor treasure hunt • Have a board game marathon • Build a fort w/ furniture, sheets, & pillows. • Make up and perform a play • Play charades • Look at old family photos • Bake cookies together • Go bowling • Go to the library • Build a card house • Clean out toys, deciding together what to keep and what to give to charity. • Go out and play in the rain! • Jump in puddles • Ride bikes • Have relay races • Make a water park complete with slip • & slide and sprinklers. • Walk around neighborhood • singing rain songs! • Rainy days are a great chance to spend time with the family! April 2014 • Notes from Ms. Leanna • If you have any stresses or concerns regarding our center, please fill out a stress buster card located by clock in computer. • Please remember to clock your child in and out everyday. This helps us keep track for billing and food servicing purposes. • Please report any changes to addresses and or phone numbers for home, cell and work. • Please remember that your child’s artwork can be viewed in their art portfolio, located in the lobby. Preschool News Ms. Alexandria This month, preschoolers are going to continue working on the basic concepts that each child needs as a foundation for entering into kindergarten. We will aslo be working on many Easter crafts and projects as well as having some fun with egg science experiments. It will be egg-xiting! With Rainy Days Comes Bad Weather We just wanted to inform parents that we practice tornado drills monthly and with tornado season among us, we will be sure to get some extra practices in. We ask all families to please have planned safe places in your home as well. Practice tornado drills as a family and plan where you would go to be safe. You can never be too safe.
