The Canadian Cancer Society Our Mission:* The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer. We achieve our mission by:funding all types of cancer research; advocating for healthy public policy and cancer control; promoting healthy lifestyles and strategies for reducing cancer riskproviding comprehensive information on cancer, its treatment and risk reduction.

Mission Moments The Lodge That Gives* islocated in Halifax, Nova Scotia and is within walking distance of the Nova Scotia Cancer Treatment Centre, the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre’s VG Site and the IWK Health Centre. The Lodge That Gives offers a home away from home where cancer patients and families stay while undergoing outpatient, cancer-related tests or treatments. In 2011, over 1,100 cancer patients (adults and children) and family members from across Nova Scotia stayed at The Lodge That Gives.
