  2. Point Park Website Navigate to the Point Park Homepage at: www.pointpark.edu Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the Point Web Icon

  3. PointWeb Login Locate your Point Park Student ID number and enter within first field. Enter your password within the ‘Password’ field. If you have forgotten your password – click on the ‘Give me my Password’ and follow the directions. A password will be sent to your Point Park email account. If you need further assistance – please contact the Help Desk at: 412.392.3494 4th Floor Academic Hall helpdesk@pointpark.ed

Registration Methods Two Methods of Registering via PointWeb Option 1: Course Needs via the Advising Page This option will provide you an in-depth view of your academic progress to date and allow you to search for available courses based on what courses you have left to complete towards your degree. Option 2: Generic Course Search This option will take you directly to a generic course search that will allow you to add courses by a course code search. You will not have the in-depth academic information available to you within this area of PointWeb.

  5. Student Information Advising Module – Course Needs Click on the Student Information Tab Locate the Advising Menu on the left Click on ‘Course Needs’

  6. Course Needs Advising Module – Course Needs Always ‘Recalculate Student Progress’ to make sure information is up to date. The first box you will see is your degree requirements. They will be separated into the major items needed to complete your degree such as: Core Requirements, Department General Requirements, Department Major Requirements, and General Electives. Click on one of the highlighted requirements. You will now be able to view courses not yet completed.

  7. Course Needs Advising Module – Course Needs Find the Course and Section you would like to take and click ‘See Available Courses’ A checkbox will be available for you to register for the course / section of your choice. Place a check in the box next to the course you have selected. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click ‘Add Courses’ Repeat this process for each course you would like to register for. Note Refer to the ‘Seats Open’ and ‘Course Status’ to see if the section is still Open. If a class is closed – See the Faculty / Advisor to sign you into the class.

  8. Quick Course Search Quick Course Search In the ‘Course Code’ field type in the full course or course prefix to search for a course. Example: JOUR, ENGL, MBA, NSET, HIST, ACCT Example: ENGL 150, ACCT 101, HIST 150 Select ‘Search’ when you are finished entering criteria. Click on the Student Information Tab Locate the Course Search Icon

  9. Quick Course Search Quick Course Search (Continuted) A checkbox will be available for you to register for the course / section of your choice. Place a check in the box next to the course you have selected. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click ‘Add Courses’ Repeat this process for each course you would like to register for. Note Refer to the ‘Seats Open’ and ‘Course Status’ to see if the section is still Open. If a class is closed – See the Faculty / Advisor to sign you into the class.

  10. Advisor Notification At this point your space in that class has been reserved. Notification will be sent to your Academic Advisor who will ultimately approve this registration. At that time your schedule will move from a reserved status to an official registration. If you encounter the following registration errors: Prerequisite Messages Time Conflict Messages Course Capacity Messages Please see your Academic Department / Advisors as they will be able to assist you.
