  3. Overview of the Project • Teach older people and carers how to use a computer and the internet • Bring older people and carers together to develop a companion guide to the Best Practice Statements written for nurses • To study the best ways to do both

What is the project really all about? • Letting older people and families know that they are getting the best care • Developing technology so that older people and people with disabilities can participate in the internet age • Older people Influencing policy formulation • Expanding the connections of isolated older people • Allowing older people to help other older adults throughout Scotland • Finding ways for nurses and older people to work together to improve care

How we will work together • Discuss “magazine stories” on topics related to the Best Practice Statements. • Asking what you expect of hospitals in matters relating to Best Practice Statement topics. • Discuss: Your past experiences relating to hospital stays. What happened to you? What do you think should have happened? • Decide on which statement you would like to work. • Look at some of the research and background information on depression or nutrition • Decide about how you would like to work and what to produce.
