ESSAND • ESSAND stands for Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Earth System Science and Andaman Natural Disaster Management. • ESSAND is an interdisciplinary graduate school of specialization under Prince of Songkla University (PSU), and is located in Phuket campus. • Main ESSAND’s objectives are to • develop the knowledge and technology for understanding, predicting, and responding to global change at local to global scales • train a new generation of scientists with high-level research capability and skills in the field of earth system science

Products include: • Weather forecasts for 28 hours in advance for Southeast Asia • Near real-time retrievals of global precipitation from observations of passive millimeter-wave satellites employing the AMP algorithm • Near real-time precipitation retrievals from observations of passive infrared geostationary satellites employing the JPP algorithm • Global earthquake reports, where the data are from USGS • Flood forecasts for important river basins in southern Thailand, where the forecasts are available only in monsoon seasons • WMApp that works with any Android devices is freely available in Google Play Store
