  1. What to do before making a will? Making a Will is not on most people's priority list. In our daily life we are often preoccupied with mortgage, car payments, jobs, children and their education, which understandably take up most of our time. But do we need to be so ignorant about the fact that will writing is an important thing in our lives. It becomes secondary for most of us, which should not be the case. Most of us also have this feeling that it is something meant for the elderly people. If I am young and healthy, making a will is not my job! Remember, life has no certainty and the day it would knock your door you will hardly have any time for anything. So, it is better you do everything on time. We all should worry about our future and should plan it properly. As per the statistics, 64% of people have not even thought about their assets and their future after they would die. Is it a right attitude? Certainly not! We all must be well prepared about the possessions that we have and what would be done after the death. Who all will be inherited and in what proportion? If you have made a will too early in your life and then during your life span you realize some unexpected facts you might have to change your will. In such a case, making a will from the scratch is what you require. Will writing is not difficult if you know the norms. Either you take the initiative, make some research and start will writing. If that’s not possible, you have your lawyer who can give you the right guidance to make a good and comprehensive will. To start with will writing you need to ask few questions. How do you want your property to be disposed of with respect to your surviving spouse and children? What should be the distribution and who all should be involved in the inheritance? Who should be the proprietor of your property? How is your real estate to be handled? How the property should be shared amongst the survivors? What kind of powers do you want the property trustees should have with respect to the investments and buying and selling of the estate? Any special clauses you want to add in the will dealing with minors? How the property disputes should be handled?
