  3. What is ICT’s in the Classroom? Information Communications Technologies • ICTs are any device of form of technology that assist in communication, sharing, and expressing information • Laptops, phones, apps, internet, websites, iPads, Facebook, emails, etc. • Using ICTs in the classroom does not need to be expensive, complicated, or distracting

  4. Why Should ICTs be Used in English? • Teenagers use English and ICTs together constantly • Expanding opportunities for creative expression • Engaging all types of learners • Sharing student work and encouraging others in English • Relating difficult concepts in familiar fields

  5. What Does This Mean for my Child? • Greater opportunities for developing English skills • Learn how to interact appropriately online • Transferrable skills for 21st Century • Deep engagement • Cross-curriculum understandings • Collaboration and team-working skills

  6. What Does This Mean for my Child? • Some time spent on learning new ICT skills • Shift from traditional learning modes • Possibly some frustration!
