  4. eBooks Program Update • eBook site is http://ebooks.aiaa.org • 254 titles currently available for purchase • 198 Progress Series • 54 Education Series • 2 Library of Flight • Approximately 55 Library of Flight titles are scheduled for conversion in CY 2010

Chinese Translations Aviation Industry Press (AIP) • A publisher focused on aerospace and engineering • Largest aviation and engineering publisher in China • Part of China Aviation Media Group (CAMG) • CAMG affiliated with McGraw-Hill Aviation Week Group • University Academic Partner • Northwestern Polytechnic University • Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics

General Terms • Territory for sales and distribution by AIP • People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan • Both complete and mixed translation versions • 100% Simplified Chinese translation and 80-20 mix of English and Chinese • 15 to 18 months to complete each project • Royalty advance paid to AIAA for each title and additional royalty paid based on sales • Joint Editorial Advisory Board to be established • AIAA to review quality of translations before publication • Five-year agreement • Three titles currently under contract • File specifications and workflow being established • New titles under consideration by AIP

  7. ScholarOne Implementation • Manuscript Central by ScholarOne • Test site is working • Fine tuning still required • Manuscript submission process similar to Journals • Editors in Chief and Editorial Advisors will be more closely integrated into the workflow than is now the case

Looking Forward • Focus on returning Education Series titles to previous levels • Leverage e-Book investment. • Reduce percentage of co-publications • Maintain number of Progress Series • Reduce number of new Library of Flight Series • Continue refining new book selection criteria and optimal series mix • Consider Education Series request to provide resources for professional-quality graphics for book figures • Books Subcommittee will investigate after ASM • Report back to Publications Committee
