Early life/childhood • Being the youngest of all four children, Johnny Depp was born on June 9,1963, in Owensboro, Kentucky. • Johnny lived in a suburban house in a small town, with his dad working as an engineer, and his mom working as a waitress. • His biggest passion as a kid was music, and his favorite band was Kiss. When he was twelve he got an electric guitar that he practiced with every day, hoping to have his own band one day. • When he dropped out of high school he formed his own band called “The Kids”. But after a while his band reputation fell to the ground.
Accomplishments • After years of practicing on his guitar, he was finally ready to have his own band called the Flames. But later on he changed it to “The Kids”. He was very successful and would write his own songs. • Johnny Depp has successfully acted in 44 movies in the last 3 decades, in various genres such as: Drama, Horror, Romance, Comedy, etc. • Johnny Depp has been nominated for the following: the Best Actor, Golden Globe Awards, Oscar nominees, Saturn awards, etc. • In the 2004, Johnny won an Empire award for best actor of Pirates of the Caribbean, and in 2008 won another empire award for the silly performance of Willy Wonka in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory..
Personal life, Obstacles, Later life When Johnny was 15, his parents got divorced. He was devastated but also knew it was coming. He was surprised how long they lived together. Johnny had difficulty making friends because his family was constantly moving. He lived in 30 or 40 houses. Sometimes he didn’t bother to make friends because he knew they would move soon. His family would never have dinner together. It was just Grab and Go.his family was never at peace because of the constant arguing. Sometimes he would go to his friends house, which was more peaceful and would felt like he was secure and safe. (Jill Menkes Kushner) When Johnny joined high school, he tried to fit in as much as he can with the other kids, good luck with that! They called him nicknames such as Johnny Dip and Dipity-Do.
Personal life,obstacles, later life • When Johnny first formed his band, he met Lori Allison. He thought he found his perfect partner but he was wrong. He got married when he was 20 and got divorced 2 years later. • During the production of Edward Scissor hands, Winona was dating Johnny at that time. He thought that she was his perfect partner. Wrong again! After five months of dating, he gave her an engagement ring, but they did not plant to be married early. They worked long hours and drifted away form each other day by day. • Finally he met Vanessa in Paris, during the production of the movie Pirates and Neverland . Johnny was 35 when he decided that it was time to settle down and have a family, only he found out that he shared the same dream as Vanessa! they got married. In 1999 they had their first child named Lily-Rose and three years later ,they had their son ,Jack. Johnny Said that this was the best thing that has ever happened to him.
Interesting Information/Quotes • His ancestry being a mix of Cherokee, German and Irish made Johnny fell like he is special for something. • When he was little he collected snakes and lizards. Now he collects paintings and old books. He also collected locks when became interested about the magician known as Harry Houdini. • When he acts in movies, he usually choose weird characters such as Captain Jack Sparrow and Edward Scissorhands. Everybody thought that he was unusual and a bit of an oddball but that didn’t stop him! He has been acting successfully for 27 years. • Johnny and Vanessa have 3 houses. They have an apartment in Paris, a house in the south of France and a house in Hollywood.
Conclusion/Opinion • I think that Johnny Depp ,even though he was weird and a bit unusual, he was still pretty successful at making us laugh and making us cry. • He had a very hard time to find his perfect partner, but when the time came, he met Vanessa and settled down. He today has a son and a daughter that he enjoys being with. He said that the greatest feeling he has experienced was having his own children. • All these great accomplishments from this great actor, shows incredible acting skills, and proves to the world that he knows what he is doing and that so many people treasure Johnny Depp as not only an actor, but a person that deserves to be awarded for his accomplishments.(Tab94) • I think that in the future, he will still be famous and will have a wonderful time with his family and his acting carrier, and I personally hope that I will get to see him at least a couple of times more as Captain Jack Sparrow.
