  2. Basic Information John Bell Hood was born on June 1st, 1831 or June 29th, 1831 in Owingsville, Kentucky. He died on August 30th, 1879 in New Orleans, Louisiana of Yellow Fever. He was a Lieutenant General for the Confederate States of America.

  3. Early Life Hood lived comfortably but wasn’t rich. He was a ladies man and had no legal records. His father wanted him to get a degree in medicine. However, he enrolled at WestPoint on July 1st, 1849

  4. West Point and Military Career Hood had 196 demerits
