Early Restoration Overview • April 21, 2011 - $1 billion down payment for early restoration. • Louisiana first made the request July 2010. • Provides an opportunity to implement restoration projects prior to the completion of the natural resource damage assessment (NRDA) process.   6. Allocation of $1 Billion Allocation of $1 Billion $300M for state-sponsored restoration projects based upon impacts $500M split equally among Gulf State Trustees $200M split equally among Federal Trustees

  7. Early Restoration Process • Trustees consider all projects submitted for consideration based on criteria • Projects proposed to Trustee Council • Per agreement, Trustee Council vote on projects • Trustees negotiate projects with BP • Draft restoration plan or plans released for public comment

  10. DERP/EA Phase I Overview • December 14, 2011-draft plan released for 60-day public comment • $57 Million for 8 Projects including: • Oyster cultch and hatchery projects • Marsh creation • Dune restoration • Boat ramps • Louisiana has 2 projects totaling more than $28 million.
