  1. B: Fractions, Decimals, and Percents I: Convert Fractions to Decimals and Percents Fraction to Decimal → Divide top by bottom 9 9 ÷ 20 20 =0.45 Decimal to Percents → Multiply by 100 or move the decimals two places to the right. = 0.45 x 100 = 45 % II: Convert Decimals to Percents and Fractions Decimal to Percent → Multiply by 100 or move the decimals two places to the right. 0.175 = 0.175 x 100 =17.5 %

  2. Decimal to Fraction → Put over “10” denominator. 0.175 3 decimal places = 1 with three zeroes 175 1000 *1 with 3 zeroes*** Reduce if you can! 7 (divided the top & bottom by 25) 20 III: Convert Percents to Decimals and Fractions Percents to Decimals → Divide by 100 or move the decimals two places to the left. 30% = 30 ÷ 100 = 0.30 Percents to Fractions → Put the percent over 100 and reduce if you can = 30 100 Divide both by 10 = 3 10

  3. Examples: Convert the fraction to a decimal and a percent. 1 1 ÷ 500 500 = 0.002 0.002 x 100 = 0.2 % 80 80 ÷ 128 128 = 0.625 0.625 x 100 = 62.5 % 66 ÷ 5 5 = 1.2 1.2 x 100 = 120 % ***It is okay to have greater than 100%

  4. 2. Convert each decimal to a percent and fraction. 0.0083 0.0083 x 100% = 0.83% 0.0083 4 decimal places so need 4 zeroes = 83 10000 4 zeroes reduce if you can!!! 83 10000 b. 0.658 0.658 x 100 = 65.8 % 0.658 3 decimal places so need 3 zeroes = 658 1000 3 zeroes reduce if you can !!! = 329 divided top & bottom by 2 to get this reduced answer! 500

  5. c. 4.55 4.55 x 100 = 455% 4.552 decimal places so need 2 zeroes = 455 100 2 zeroes Reduce if you can!!! = 91Divided the top & bottom by 5 to get this reduced answer! 20 3. Convert each percent to a decimal and fraction. 358% 358 ÷100 = 3.58 3.58 2 decimal places so need 2 zeroes = 358reduce if you can!!! 100 = 179divided the top & bottom by 2 to get this reduced answer!!! 50

  6. b. 0.58%0.58 ÷100 = 0.0058 0.00584 decimal places so need 4 zeroes = 58 reduce if you can!!! 10000 = 29 divided the top & bottom by 2 to get this reduced answer!!! 5000 c. 78 3 %Change to improper fraction percent! 4 4 x 78 = 312 312 + 3 = 315 315 % Change to decimal percent! 4 315 ÷ 4 78.75% This is the same amount of percent as what you are given just in a different form! Now change this to a decimal and fraction! 78.75% 78.75 ÷ 100 = 0.7875 rest of the solution is on the next slide!

  7. 0.78754 decimal places so need 4 zeroes = 7875reduce if you can!!! 10000 = 63divided the top & bottom by 125 to get this reduced answer!!! 80 Assignment Page 135 # 4 - 9
