National Art Honor SocietyJanuary 9. 2008 Agenda 1.9.08 • Walter’s Art Gallery “The Future is Fusion” call for artwork – presentation by Danielle Rives; handout • Handmade Valentine fundraiser – find photographs that show lovey dovey stuff – people kissing, holding hands, stuff like that. Bring next meeting (2 weeks from today). We will sell Feb7,8 during P/T conferences. • Coffee House is in MARCH – SCOUT BANDS that are FROM Howard High School • “Empty Bowls” project – in conjunction with Ms. Hutto’s Spanish Club. More info. to come… • T-SHIRTS will be printed SOON! Cassidy Toner finished creating the “plate”. Mr. G is in charge of production – he’s going to hand pull the T-shirts!!

  3. Welcome to the National Art Honor SocietyFirst meeting for new members ~ Dec. 12, 2007 The Goals of the NAHS are: • Make art visible in the school and community. We can do this by… • In and out of school murals • Spring and Fall Coffeehouses • Art exhibits and displays in school and out • Making posters to advertise school events • Featuring student art work in the school newspaper • Art related community service and leadership… • Adopt-a-Family (going on now…) • Art Day at Rockburn • Fundraising for local charities (Art Sales/Shows)

Development of our own artistic aspirations…. • Field Trips: NYC to see galleries, museums, and Broadway show. • OPEN STUDIOS – Every Thursday after school until 5pm in Ms. Brennan’s room ******NAHS NEW RULES****** • NO leaving a meeting w/o telling an officer • Required attendance is at least 3 meetings per month • If your attendance falls under 3 meetings you must make hours up; they will be arranged by Mr. Gardner, Ms. Praff, or Ms. Brennan • Members MUST maintain a B in art classes and get 3 service credits, otherwise they will be denied membership to NAHS

  5. Today’s Objective: Create several snowflakes using paper cutting techniques to decorate the atrium.
