THE IMPORTANT THINGS ABOUT THE GOLD RUSH • THE GOLD RUSH LASTED ONLY SEVEN YEARS. • EVERY FEW PEOPLE GOT RICH AND THE ONE WHO DID WASTED ALL ON GAMBLING OR WILD SPENDING. • ARE TOWNS THAT JUST STARTED UP FOR NO REASON AND ONE TOWN ON THE YUBA RIVER THERE WHERE ONLY TWO HOUSE’S WHEN THE MINER WENT THERE AND HE WENT BACK A YEAR LATER AND THERE WAS A 1,000 PEOPLE LIVING THERE. • THE GOLD RUSH ENDED WITHIN A FEW YEARS BUT HAD LASTING EFFECTS ON CALIFORNIA’S ECONOMY.
