  2. What is a Wiki? • According to dictionary.com a wiki is a web application that allows anyone visiting a website to edit content on it

  3. Why have a wiki? • Wikis can be used for many things including: • School projects • Class collaboration • Faculty collaboration • Classroom management

  4. Is there an age restriction? • Wikis can be used by almost any person of any age as long as they know what they are doing. • Young children would need to be taught how to use the wiki, but would eventually be able to use it on their own. • (link of hillie using a wiki)

  5. Who would benefit from using a wiki? • Teachers can use wikis to communicate and collaborate. • Students in higher grades (3-8) can use wikis to work on classroom projects and/or submit homework. • Also, this is good for projects because the teacher would be able to monitor the student’s work and ensure that everyone is adding to the assignment in an appropriate manner. • A wiki could be used in a manner similar to blackboard too. When using a wiki, it is possible to allow people to post items to the wiki, but not edit them. This makes wikis good for submitting homework. The teacher could post the grades and it would be viewable to the students.
