TITLE OF STUDY XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX PEOPLE WHO DID THE STUDYCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC UNIVERSITIES AND HOSPITALS THEY ARE AFFILIATED WITH LOGO LOGO INTRODUCTION BACKGROUND MATERIALS AND METHODS GOALS and ACTIVITIES KHCC ACHIEVEMENTS RESULTS In accordance with the stated mission of the center, our goals and objectives are to attain and maintain: Excellence in Clinical Patient CareAt KHCC our primary goal is to ensure excellence in clinical care by treating the patient as a whole, focusing on his/her individual physical, emotional, social and environmental needs. KHCC treats over 3400 new cases yearly from Jordan and surrounding countries by using the clinical practice guidelines (CPGs). KHCC provides a comprehensive program of services to adult patients with all types of cancer. These services include up-to-date therapies for solid tumors, hematological malignancies, and bone marrow/stem cell transplantation and pain, palliative services. Cancer treatment at KHCC uses the multidisciplinary approach where patients are treated in Multidisciplinary Clinics (MDC) that consists of consultants from different specialties, including: medical oncologists, surgeons and radiation therapists. At KHCC, patients younger than 18 years are treated under the care of pediatric department,6 teams work closely in the pediatric oncology clinic at KHCC. These clinics consist of the following specialties: Leukemia ,lymphoma service, Solid tumors service, Neuro-oncology service, Retinoblastoma service, Pain management service and Palliative care service. Excellence in Cancer Education, Training and Public AwarenessWe have established and continue to advance several programs and initiatives such as setting up Oncology Fellowships and Residency Programs, establishing a Training and Professional Development Center, establishing a Medical Library that includes virtual access to the resources of the NIH, implementing several Community Outreach Programs, and developing a Hospital-Based Registry for Cancer cases in the country, establishing the Cancer Control Program( public awareness, early detection and primary prevention and smoking cessation clinic). Excellence in Clinical ResearchKHCC aims to become a nucleus for clinical research in the region. We will achieve this by implementing the latest treatment protocols available to us, developing partnerships with leading academic institutions, governments, scientists and pharmaceutical companies both locally and abroad. On the 19th of September in 2002, there was an official ceremony to change the name of the center to honor the late King Hussein, who died of cancer. The new center was thus named King Hussein Cancer Center.  The new name also implied full Royal support for this project. In 2006 KHCC received certification from (JCIA), the first center in Jordan and the fourth hospital in the Middle East to receive such recognition. In 2007 the center received its second international accreditation as a disease specific cancer center also from (JCIA). In 2008 KHCC received (Safety and Occupational Health Excellence Award) Social Security Corporation- Jordan. In 2008 KHCC received Hazards Analysis and critical Control Point (HACCAP). In 2009 KHCC reaccredited from (JCIA). MISSION and VISION PURPOSE AND HYPOTHESIS Mission The mission of King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) is to provide state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer care to the people of Jordan and the Middle Eastern region. We are also working to improve access to education, training, public awareness and research in order to decrease mortality and alleviate suffering from cancer in accordance with the highest standards and quality of care. Vision. Our vision is to transition KHCC into a leading institution in oncology care, training and research that will be a pillar in elevating health care in the region and beyond. CONCLUSION KHCC is a clear example of an institution steadily progressing on the path of excellence, growing from good to great by being the leading comprehensive cancer center in the Middle East and providing comprehensive cancer care to all patients from different age with high standards of care using the latest technology.KHCC is a big family working with high spirit of team work.
