  2. Description • Up to 18 feet long • Yellow, green, brown or black scales • Their fangs are up to three inches long • Their neck ribs can be formed into a hood when it is threatened

  3. Habitat • Tropical deciduous forests • Tropical scrub forests • Tropical grasslands of India • Southern China • Southern Asia

  4. Diet • They are carnivores ( meat eaters) • Rat snake and lizards • After eating large animals (that could take hours) they can go without food for months

  5. Enemies • Mongoose • Eagles • Large owls • Rats • Wild boars

  6. Fast Facts • They smell using their forked tongue • Their life span is about 20 years • They eat their prey whole • They are not really cobras
