  10. Personal Statement My Name Is Joel Ronquillo and I am planning to study Mathematics General at the University of North Texas. I am interested in applying to UNT in order to earn a Masters or a Doctorate’s in Mathematics General; once I earn my degree I plan to get another degree in education in order to be able to become a professor either at a high school or a university.            I would like to study at UNT because of the great campus they offer. The architecture of the buildings at UNT is beautiful, and also I like where the school is located in the country. However, what fascinated me the most when I visited was how friendly everyone is. UNT is like a miniature city, something which really caught my attention. I believe I should be selected because I am the type of student your university is looking for: I am dedicated, hardworking and have very good ethics. One of the main reasons I came to the United States was to better myself, and only at your fine institution will I succeed. I take my school very seriously and I plan on achieving every one of my goals. I do not plan on going to college just to party and fool around. I am going to college to further my education and in the future be able to provide for myself and for my family.             Some of my short term goals would be graduating high school as part of the top ten percentile. In order to do this, I plan to keep up with my A’s in my classes and also increase my study time. Right now I’m currently at top twenty five percent in my class. Throughout this school year, I am also planning on working on many community service activities, trying to give back to our community. Some of the activities include volunteering in our future food drives, helping out in can drives, and one of my biggest community service plans is also volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House for Charities, and trying to help out as much as I can.             Now, long term goals for me include becoming one of the first to graduate college, if not the first in my family. My brother is one year older than I, so I have set myself a challenge to try and graduate before him. I am determined to do my best and graduate college, before my brother so I can be the first male in my family to graduate. Once I am through with college I plan to settle down with my family and provide them with the best. Getting that degree will almost guarantee me a good job which will allow me to provide for my family. One of my biggest goals is to make my kids proud one day, and I will let them see that their father was not a loser.            I hope you take me into consideration for your program. Thank you very much for your time. If you have any questions for me you can reach me atronquillojoel@gmail.com or at 915-929-1496, at your convenience.Regards, Joel Ronquillo.

  11. Mission Statement My mission in life is to one day become a great father and to be able to provide for my family like my dad has done for me and my family. I plan to attend the University of North Texas and earn a Master’s and a Doctorate’s degree in General Mathematics. Once these are obtained i plan to teach at higher level institution. I have my ethics set very clearly and always follow them. I am a hard worker and always strive to achieve my goals,  and will go to the end of the world to achieve my goals. I am a respectful person and expect to be treated as one.
