  11. Demystify the Collaboration Things you don’t need: Things you need: • Agendas • Formal meetings • Proposals • Long structured meetings • Phone call • Email • Text • Working lunch • Frequent & informal conversations

  12. Establishing the Trust in the Beginning of the relationship • Frequent and short conversations • Be persistent • Take the initiative • Be willing to hear “no”. • Ask “what do you need from me?” • Get face to face time • Go to lunch

  13. Things we need • Simple • Bullets • One page documents • Accurate communication • Send communication to those that need to know • Attend each other’s meetings – staff meetings, in-services, training

  16. No Money • Programming • Free • Requires an idea • Willingness to shift your workflow • Use volunteers • Allow your creative juices to flow • Plan ahead - build a line item in your budget, even with a decreased budget

  19. Relationship • School librarian is the campus advocate for the public librarian. • The public librarian is the advocate for the school librarian. • It’s amazing how much you can get done, if we don’t care who gets the credit.
