Membership is going well but we still need everyone to get their dues paid to meet Department deadlines for the award. Please pay your 2013 dues!! Hope everyone enjoyed the membership appreciation day. Our big events this month are: Oktoberfest on the 13th, the Auxiliary Children’s Halloween party and the Lounge Costume Party on the 27th and our quarterly Biloxi bus trip on the 29th. These events should be a lot of fun. Come out and join us. If anyone has any other ideas for fund raisers or any other issue please come to the meetings and voice your desires or just drop a note in the CDR’s Suggestion Box in the lounge. Please remember to be courteous and considerate of your fellow Comrades, we are all on the same team!!! Thanks to 61.26% of you who have paid your dues up to now. We need for the rest of you to pay your dues early so we can attain our 100% (968 members). Just come into the Post and put your money for 2013 into my Adjutant/Membership box or call me at 982-1947 and I will meet you at the Post and get you your 2013 card. I’m usually at the Post every morning so come by and pay your dues. I’m trying to get our Post at 100% well before the March 2013 goal date. I can’t do it without your support. Thanks to everyone for their support last month. I had to have neck surgery and wasn’t at the Post as much as I wanted. But I’m better now and will be back at the Post if you need me for anything. For God and Country Jimmy Lee Martin 3rd Vice Cdr- It’s hard to believe that we are entering our third Fish Fry service already this year and the hard work is paying off. Thanks to all of our loyal fish fry supporters because, we had another banner turn out for our September fish fry. More food is now being served with thumbs ups comments on taste, quality and service. Many thanks to our kitchen help for set-up and pleasant serving attitudes with our patrons and let’s not forget our frying crew working hard to provide you with great food.  Remember:  Serving starts at 2:PM with service lasting until food is gone, so come out on time and bring your friends and family along. For God and Country Brian Nichols SAL Commander Auxiliary – Octoberfest will be on the 13th of the month @ 12:00 noon and the Auxiliary will hold a cake walk. Please contact us and donate a cake. The children's Halloween Party will be October 27th from 12:00 til. We need donations of mini cupcakes, bagged candy and assorted chips. Mardi Gras has been penciled in for Feb 9th 2013,if you would like to be a part of it, contact Connie Jones or Shirley Neal. Your Auxiliary is working hard for you and our veterans. Come join us on the 2nd Tuesday of each month@ 6:30 PM and make a difference. Edie Herrington President Unit #240 Legion Riders,Our next ALR meeting will be on October 14th at 10:00 am, please attend. We need all Riders to come out and help support the Post and their projects. We were able to send a check to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation for $5200.00 from our last ride. The Riders will also be doing Jello Shots for our October Fest on the 13th, come out and buy a few. Don’t forget to renew your Post and Rider dues for 2013. For God and Country Richard Raborn Dir Bingo: Bingo continues to prosper. Last month we donated $2000 to the Post despite being closed for Isaac. We are averaging 73 players per night.
